The Porec Triathlon is one of the few races that come back every year. Organization with a lot of energy and understanding make everything feel like home. A great atmosphere at the very end of the race makes you feel really special.
The end of the season brings fatigue and saturation, sometimes the longing for a long vacation. All this falls into oblivion if you come to half in Poreč. The sun is not guaranteed, but a great atmosphere definitely. First class experience impeccable organization and race in general, with an attractive and demanding cycling course, a racing track along the sea and a spectacular finish arena on the pebble beach. Whoever did not try it has made a mistake!
An early morning swim with upbeat music makes it that much easier to run out of the blue of the Adriatic sea to the T1 zone, and the cheering does not stop until I am way off on my bike. The support keeps up the rhythm during the Running segment which is one of the flattest and fastest in Croatia, directly by the sea, providing for personal bests in this discipline. “Poreč Half” is a race with the longest and constant tradition of this young sport in Croatia thanks to the professional approach of the organizational team: they leave no space for error and doubt. With my bike in the zone, I can only relax and enjoy racing in the perfect weather and terrain for a triathlon. Each year I aim to come back to Poreč to conclude my racing season ever faster and stronger. C U in October!
Great location, great organization, fast course. All in all, fantastic race to end the triathlon season.
Poreč Triathlon was my first half Ironman race, as we used to call this dicipline. It was back in 2014 with only one Olympic triathlon race finished so far and I thought I was already ready for the Ironman distance. I remember my second appearance in Poreč in 2017 when I entered the world of triatlons more seriously - from organizing and accepting competitors in the transition zone with volunteers without which this would not be the same. I also remember a smile on the face in the finish arena and all the people who have made it all possible.
Poreč Triathlon race was my first 70.3 race back in 2014 and I have been coming back to close the season there ever since. The atmosphere before, during and after the race is really special and organisation can compete with those of big international events. Competing in Poreč can be a great opportunity to prolong racing season and to relax in mild Istrian climate.
I've been returning back to Poreč in the end of every single triathlon season for more than 6 years now and I promised myself that I’ll be doing that until my age and especially my health allow me to do so. I hope I’ll be able to stay faithful to Poreč triathlon at least until its 10th performance… Perfectly organized competition in idyllic Istrian environment, friendly organizers and amazing atmosphere fill me with positive energy and make me feel excited and happy about competing there over and over again. This is why it is never questionable where my family is going to be every second weekend in October- in Poreč of course!
Porec Triathlon is the ideal race for the end-off season in the middle of October. The swim part in the warm and cler water of the sea, interesting and fast cycling part, fantastic run course alongside the lagoon. The start field is usualy full of very good triathletes all around the Europe and they value the proffesional organization of the race. These are things which bring me back again to get ready in the start line of one of my favourite triathlon race in my calendar.
My first adventure called triathlon was Poreč Triatlon back in 2014. At the very end of the season Poreč Triathlon is a race for the true lovers of this sport, an excellent organization, wonderful volunteers, a diverse and interesting trail. That is why I am a lifelong spontaneous ambassador to the Poreč Triathlon race. Congratulations to the organizers of continuous investment in the quality of this race!
Personally Poreč Triatlon is one of only few „real“ race sin the calendar. With the increasing number of races in the world, there are only few ones where you can really measure your strength. From my experience, winning an Ironman in some exotic location does not mean much. To show who you are, you need to come to Poreč!
